MASK POLICY
Effective March 27
Approved by the Vestry of Saint Barnabas on March 7, 2022
In light of the recommendations from the CDC and other trusted medical sources, our Rector and Vestry adopted the following mask policy. To see a message from The Rev. Jim Clark and a seating diagram, click here. What follows is a summary of the guidelines.
Beginning March 27, 2022
We will move to three seating options for worship at 10:15
Communal “Mask Optional” Pews
Communal “Masks Required” Pews
Social Distance “Masks Required” Pews
and
Communion by intinction will be offered kneeling or standing at the rail
Diagrams are available to see the location of the three seating options. You can find them on the Welcome Table on the patio and they will be posted around the patio next week.
What Remains the Same
All unvaccinated individuals over 5 years of age must continue to wear masks at church
7:45 and 10:21 services will continue as “mask-optional” services
Online worship will still be available every week
What to Expect When You Arrive
The Welcome Table located on the patio in front of the church will have diagrams of the new seating plan. Outside, Greeters and Vestry Members will be available to answer your questions and provide orientation to the new seating plan. Inside, the ushers will be available to point out the three seating area options and assist you to find a seat of your preference.
Communion
At Communion, the ushers will invite each pew to move to the front of the worship space to receive the Eucharist either standing or kneeling at the altar rail.
The Social Distancing Pews will then be released to receive communion standing. On the way back to your seat, you can briefly remove your mask to consume the wafer and then replace your mask.
Thank you ever so much for your flexibility and patience as we continue to adjust! As we move forward with this next step, we want to provide the opportunities for everyone to attend and to keep everyone safe. If you have questions, please contact the office, who will put you in touch with the right person.
